Soya Uttapam Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup soya flakes / 1/2 cup soya flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup sooji
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 capsicum, chopped
  • 1 tsp jeera (cumin) powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 cup water

Method

  1. Grind the soya flakes into fine powder or use soya flour.
  2. In a bowl add rice flour, sooji and buttermilk to the soya flour, mix well.
  3. Add water if needed to make thick consistency .
  4. Cover it and keep it for half an hour.
  5. Heat a non-stick pan and grease with little oil.
  6. Pour a ladle full of batter, sprinkle chopped vegetables, salt and chilli powder.
  7. Pour little oil on all sides.
  8. Cover and cook on medium flame till sides are loose and base gets golden brown.
  9. Flip over and cook.
  10. Serve with green chutney.
